Finally, we cut the length and width of each twig to be sufficiently long and wide enough to reach and clean every tooth in the mouth. 🦷 Each twig is meant to be for single-use, after which it can be composted.

📖 Here’s My Story…
Being from India, the birthplace of Ayurveda, I have a true appreciation for natural products and the need for all of us to live in harmony with nature. Having spent over 20 years in the United States of America, the home of Silicon Valley, I also appreciate the many benefits and beauty of modern technology. It is not a question of “either/or”. Rather, I believe we can harness the best of both worlds to improve our own health and the well-being of the planet.
Many decades since moving to America, I am now the mother of three children. I think a lot about their health and the world I will be leaving behind for my grandchildren. I believe I am not alone in this regard, as many parents would agree that the consumption of artificial chemicals is a substantial detriment to our children’s health. Similarly, I think most of us would also agree that the proliferation of plastics — particularly single-use plastics — poses great risks to the health of our planet.
As I pondered my ability to make the greatest impact on both of these fronts, I decided to focus on the area that each of us interacts with every day. As daily brushers, our families and we are ingesting a multitude of harsh, artificial chemicals found in most toothpastes, including sodium lauryl sulfate, artificial colors, and artificial sweeteners. We then dump brush handles, replacement heads, and toothpaste tubes in the trash, adding to the plastic waste problem that is suffocating our planet. This gave birth to the Natural Neem Electric Toothbrush.
I spent the past three years developing and perfecting a solution to these problems. Building on my Indian heritage, I spent a considerable amount of time researching how to sustainably farm the neem tree and then how to best pluck, debark, clean, and package each neem twig for personal use. Drawing on my American upbringing, I worked extensively with industrial engineers and product designers to develop the electric brush handle to perfectly hold each twig and deliver the appropriate amount of power to clean your teeth — without damaging the enamel.
I am genuinely proud of what we at Neem Essentials have created. This is a product we can all use every day, that will lessen the amount of artificial chemicals our families ingest and reduce the volume of plastic waste we generate. More personally, this is a product that I am thrilled to have my children and future grandchildren use!
